The Next Adventure

20 Jan 2014

After seven years at New Bamboo, I’m leaving to start something new.

In the last three years, I’ve helped New Bamboo grow from eight expert devs and one very busy MD into to a real company, a smooth-running and varied team of 23 (and still growing). We’ve shipped applications for tiny startups and huge enterprises. We’ve solved hard technical problems, harder process problems, and helped to make web development better. We’ve learned by doing and led by example.

And it’s been easy. I’ve been blessed to work with an absolutely first-class team, which has meant not only that I’ve never had to worry about delivery, but that I’ve had an enormous amount of help in moving the company forward.

But my work here is done, and it’s time for the next adventure. I’ve been heavily involved with selecting and briefing my successor, Tom Langley, an experienced entrepreneur with a genuine love for agile development and New Bamboo’s values and culture. I’ll be leaving the company in extremely capable hands, and I’m excited for what’s coming next - both for the company and for me.

I think I can speak both for New Bamboo and myself when I say: It’s been great, and it’s going to be even better.
